AMEX GLOW TENNIS
Flight School returned once again for the 2022 US Open Tennis Fan Experience to create a table-top digital tennis game utilizing an LED screen and HTC Vive peripherals.
The name of the game is “Glow Tennis”, an amalgamation of tennis, air hockey, and pong. Step up to the table, grab a Vive racket, and defeat your opponent by the time the clock runs out. Oh, and watch out for those boom-balls, portals, and multi-ball hazards!
Four tables were constructed, each consisting of 12 1000mm x 5000mm LED panels per table. The tables were fabricated by Eleventh Street Workshop with A/V supplied by Dynamic Productions.
Flight School worked closely with experiential agency Momentum Worldwide to develop the game from start to finish in less than 3 months. Keeping the mechanics simple along with intense rapid prototyping allowed enough time to perfect the nuances and make a perfectly addictive game. Glow Tennis was the most popular feature at the 2022 US Open American Express Fan Experience.
