Two parts humor, one part emotion, this madcap romp through human history starring Chris O’Dowd (Bridesmaids, Thor: The Dark World, Molly’s Game) intends to raise testicular cancer awareness through laughter and inspiration. From the dawn of time to the inaugural flight of Skyballs (a 100-foot tall hot air balloon in the shape of a scrotum), this experience showcases men’s fascination with their dangly bits while calling upon them to ditch the embarrassment of self-examination and start sharing their stories with others. With early diagnosis, testicular cancer is one of the most curable forms of the disease—get informed and spread the word. Man up and see your doctor.
Reel FX, and now our team at Flight School, provided post-production services for films created within the program, totaling over 70 minutes of VR films in 2016, with premieres at Sundance, SXSW and Tribeca. In 2017, we are working with a new crop of filmmakers and non-profits throughout the globe. Among the 10 filmmakers selected for the program this year, is our own Ryan Hartsell, directing a film for Male Cancer Awareness Campaign, an organization leveraging the power of humor – and the visual spectacle of giant floating testicles – to combat embarrassment, raise awareness, and drive home the importance of early diagnosis.
